Philosophy

We believe learning should deepen the knowledge of a child's world, increase skills and encourage the natural dispositions of curiosity, creativity, initiative, independence and responsibility

Parent involvement is welcomed and encouraged. The philosophy of St. Jude Greenfield does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, or handicapping conditions. We believe discipline is positive guidance.

Project and Unit Curriculum

Activities to help each child reach his full potential are provided throughout different unit studies each month with related field trips and community visitors. The activities cross all curricula areas including math, science, social studies, literacy, music, dramatic play, art, fine and gross motor skills as each child's academic skills and learning styles are considered. Instruction is individualized to meet each child's talents and gifts. Authentic assessment is provided through the children's work, checklists, class books, and teachers' observations. The Gesell Development Evaluation helps determine appropriate developmental activities. Emerging literacy in reading, writing, and communication skills is reinforced and encouraged.

Mother's Day Out is a ministry which began at St. Jude Catholic Church during Fall 2008 and has been enormously successful in allowing parents and opportunity to have a break from childcare so they may devote time to other tasks. Children are cared for in a loving, safe, Christian environment by two teachers per class and engaged in mind, heart, and body with age-appropriate activities and daily play on the St. Jude playground. Classes are arranged by age, with a class for 12-24 month-olds and another for 24-36 month-olds (based on age at the start of the school year).

Tuition

Tuition for Mother's Day Out is $85/month with a $75 registration fee.

Schedule

St. Jude Mother's Day Out follows the Bossier Parish school holidays and closings.
