Youth Ministry Parent Information
"You have asked to have your child baptized. In doing so you are accepting the responsibility of training him in the practice of the faith. It will be your duty to bring him up to keep God's commandments as Christ taught us, by loving God and our neighbor. Do you clearly understand what you are undertaking? Parents: We do."
At Baptism, parents take on an important role as the primary catechists of their children. By accepting this wonderful yet challenging task, they begin the life of grace in their children, bringing them up in a relationship with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and opening the doors of heaven for their children by introducing them to the mysteries of the Christian faith.
St. Jude's Youth Ministry program seeks to facilitate this important task of Christian parenthood by enabling parents with the tools they need to teach the faith in the home, which we as Catholics call "the domestic church." We are currently looking into what resources we can provide for parents. If you have any suggestions or are willing to volunteer to assist with the St. Jude youth program, please email Micah Murphy at youthstjude@bellsouth.net.
